Open Stories Limit

What?

Open story limit determine the maximum amount of stories that the team can be working on at a point in time for an iteration.

Why?

Limiting the amount of open stories reduces the amount of work that is “almost completed” by forcing the team to focus on completing stories that are already in progress.

How?

The team will initially determine open stories limits for in progress and redefine it after monitoring the average number of stories for a few iterations.

Tasks

What?

• Tasks are deliverables or criteria that needs to be completed before moving a story to done.
• Tasks are limited to a feature and not the entire product.

Why?

Agree as a feature team on your tasks so that the entire team is aware what will need to be completed and included in estimates.

How?

Tasks are created based on the Definition of Done defined by the Product Owner and the feature team.
